Family Support Coordinator for Child Welfare Services

Job Summary:

The Family Support Coordinator will provide trauma-informed, non-clinical support to families receiving child welfare services. This role will engage with children and caregivers, providing professional, empathetic, and respectful support to help them achieve desired outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands-on support to families, engaging with children and caregivers to build trust and rapport.

  • Collaborate with the Child and Family Team to develop and implement individualized support plans.

  • Deliver evidence-based education and skill-building to parents and caregivers, teaching strategies for effective parenting.

  • Assist parents in effectively advocating for culturally appropriate services.

  • Provide transportation to appointments for service linkage when necessary.

Qualifications:

Requirements for this role include:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience working with child-serving systems, such as mental health, child welfare, probation, and special education.

  • Leadership and advocacy skills.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Bilingual skills (Spanish) are a plus.
