Internship Details: We are excited to present a credit-based internship for a Managing Editorial Intern. This role involves supporting the Managing Editorial teams across both adult and children's book categories. The internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the book production process while collaborating with various creative departments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update title records in our internal database
  • Verify corrections in book layouts
  • Proofread various book components and marketing materials
  • Prepare manuscripts for design formatting
  • Request and evaluate cover text
  • Compile copyright information
  • Participate in weekly departmental meetings
  • Provide general support to the department

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in English, publishing, or a related field
  • Must be located in the New York City area and available for a hybrid work schedule
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is essential
  • Demonstrated proactive approach with strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Eager to learn, develop, research, and collaborate closely with the Managing Editorial team
  • Experience in copyediting and/or proofreading is advantageous
