Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department at The Avenues Transitional Care Center. This includes ensuring that the facility is maintained in a safe, comfortable, and presentable manner, in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facility Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and necessary maintenance.
  • Maintenance Scheduling: Prepare and manage weekly maintenance schedules, allocate workloads, and coordinate employee schedules.
  • Team Management: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise maintenance assistants and housekeepers.
  • Repair Coordination: Oversee repairs, ensure timely completion, and maintain accurate records.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain department tools, inventory, and equipment, ensuring proper storage and organization.
  • Safety Training: Conduct safety training, inspections, and lead the safety committee.
  • Financial Management: Manage department budget, secure quotes, and recommend vendors and strategies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and state surveys.
  • Communication: Maintain professional working relationships with associates, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years maintenance experience, and one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Problem-solving, decision-making, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems knowledge, basic computer and office equipment skills, and excellent communication skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand on ladders, work on light fixtures, and perform other physical tasks throughout the workday.
