The Credit Portfolio Senior Analyst role is a mid-level position tasked with generating and scrutinizing various critical management reports that focus on Third Party Credit Risk, Third Party Performance Risk, and Partner Credit Risk. This position also involves overseeing activities such as credit evaluations, credit approvals, and monitoring the portfolio to detect credit migration in collaboration with the Risk Management team.

As a key member of the Third Party Credit Risk Group (TPCRG), the analyst will contribute to a Global Commercial Risk function.

This function is responsible for the Global Third Party Credit Policy and the establishment of Management Information Systems (MIS) and Reporting for contingent exposures across various types of third-party relationships, including suppliers, partners, alliances, and joint ventures for Citigroup on a global scale.

The position provides an opportunity to enhance not only technical and reporting skills but also a comprehensive understanding of risk management and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and processes.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze data and generate reports for all divisions of the Third Party Credit Risk Group.
  • Consolidate necessary information and present it in a clear and informative manner.
  • Conduct assessments of Credit and Performance Risk for both prospective and existing third-party relationships, including evaluating companies, industries, financial stability, Citi's contingent risks, and contract safeguards.
  • Utilize Citi's proprietary systems and tools, including Debt Rating Model (DRM), CAT, RAPID, Credit Engine, and Optima.
  • Structure third-party agreements and negotiate transactions.
  • Perform annual and/or quarterly reviews of Third Parties engaged in critical activities for Citi.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative techniques and enhancements of processes and workflows by applying in-depth disciplinary knowledge and integrating subject matter and industry expertise within Risk Management.
  • Research management inquiries using risk systems and data, and support ad-hoc risk policy analyses and projects as needed.
  • Participate in the development, testing, and optimization of credit policies, ensuring consistency and regulatory compliance, and assist in the implementation of those policies, processes, and related initiatives.
  • Manage risk levels across the entire credit spectrum involving multiple products and retail formats, and prepare risk management presentations for senior management.

It is essential to appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This includes driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional experience, preferably in the Financial Services sector, focusing on Reporting or Risk Management.
  • Proficient knowledge of commercial risk data analytics.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and Tableau.
  • Experience with internal risk/finance reporting systems (Optima, CitiRisk), system flows, and data attributes.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
  • Understanding of credit risk metrics and basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to analyze data and present findings effectively.
  • Capability to apply credit and risk principles towards achieving business objectives.
  • Experience in engaging with senior management, regulators, and internal and external audits.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize, and drive results with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Proven ability to maintain organization in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
