Role Summary:

The Sales Specialist for Operations & Maintenance (O&M), De-installation/Re-installation (De-Re), and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) projects is tasked with securing ongoing O&M contracts, which include preventative maintenance, monitoring, and significant repairs for various solar PV projects. This position also involves the sales of commercial-scale De-Re projects and C&I EPC sales within Colorado's front range. The individual will manage incoming leads, engage in business development to generate new opportunities, and foster relationships with solar PV system owners, including commercial entities, government agencies, non-profits, and financial institutions. Responsibilities include crafting sales proposals, responding to RFPs, delivering presentations to potential clients, and providing sales support to both the Commercial Sales and O&M operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and secure contracts for O&M, De-Re, and C&I EPC projects, focusing on the front range of Colorado.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with key stakeholders in the commercial solar sector.
  • Engage with prospective clients, including commercial businesses, governmental bodies, non-profits, and project developers.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline for O&M, De-Re, and C&I EPC services.
Essential Duties:
  • Collaborate with the Director of Commercial Business Development to implement sales strategies.
  • Identify and qualify potential leads.
  • Document customer interactions in the CRM system.
  • Deliver presentations and public speaking engagements to prospective clients.
  • Manage relationships with clients at various stages of the sales process.
  • Conduct initial consultations with clients.
  • Work alongside the O&M operations team to assess non-standard project scopes.
  • Prepare quotes and proposals for O&M, De-Re, and C&I EPC services.
  • Support the Commercial Sales team with O&M sales initiatives.
  • Communicate proposal and contract specifics to clients.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts for O&M, De-Re, and C&I EPC projects.
  • Facilitate internal project hand-off meetings post-contract execution.
  • Organize external project kick-off meetings with clients.
  • Gather necessary system documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings and industry-related events.
Performance Standards:
  • Engage in weekly customer prospecting activities.
  • Represent the company professionally to key clients.
  • Maintain long-term client relationships effectively.
  • Develop tailored proposals that meet client needs.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries.
  • Keep sales pipeline data updated in the CRM.
  • Coordinate effectively with O&M and Commercial EPC Operations teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Exceptional relationship management capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial PV systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to set clear expectations.
  • Understanding of construction principles, including the ability to interpret electrical and structural plans.
  • Highly organized with strong multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to engage in constructive discussions regarding organizational priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NABCEP/COSEIA certification.
  • Experience in Solar PV O&M.
Work Environment:
  • The work environment is typically moderate in noise level, combining office tasks with site visits. Frequent travel is required, and temperatures may vary significantly based on the season.
