Category Manager/Sr Category Manager, Fuel Supply

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager/Sr Category Manager, Fuel Supply to join our Procurement team within the Finance division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategic programs related to jet fuel supply, addressing pricing, acquisition, total cost, lead-time, and supply, as well as managing contracts and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the company in business transactions with internal and external organizations
- Create and manage strategies, negotiations, RFPs, and contracts related to jet fuel purchase
- Develop and promote strategic partnerships with jet fuel suppliers
- Work closely with internal American Airlines customers and stakeholders to understand their business needs and objectives
- Effectively communicate with management levels both internally and externally
- Proactively manage fuel shortage/disruptions and keep all related parties informed
- Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change
- Assist with the Supplier Diversity program, as necessary
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 3 years related work experience
- Preferred qualifications include a degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or other related field
- Knowledge of the oil & gas industry
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Process Mapping abilities
- Supplier Risk Analysis
- Vendor Relationship Management
- Skills, Licenses & Certifications: Skilled in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
