Category Manager/Sr Category Manager, Fuel Supply

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager/Sr Category Manager, Fuel Supply to join our Procurement team within the Finance division at American Airlines.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive strategic programs related to jet fuel supply, addressing pricing, acquisition, total cost, lead-time, and supply.
- Manage contracts and suppliers, ensuring effective relationships and optimal fuel supply.
- Represent the company in business transactions with internal and external organizations, negotiating and managing contracts.
- Work closely with internal American Airlines customers and stakeholders to understand their business needs and objectives.
- Communicate effectively with management levels both internally and externally, ensuring seamless collaboration.
- Proactively manage fuel shortage/disruptions, keeping all related parties informed of the status.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.
- Assist with the Supplier Diversity program as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 3 years of related work experience.
- Preferred qualifications include a degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Knowledge of the oil and gas industry.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Process mapping abilities.
- Supplier risk analysis.
- Vendor relationship management.
- Skills in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A potential team leader with strong communication skills.
- Understanding of supply chain concepts and work experience applying those concepts.
- Negotiating and influencing skills.
- Self-directed and resourceful with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Business understanding, particularly in total cost management and financial analysis.
- Proficient in Excel.
- High ethical standard.
