We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager/Sr Category Manager, Fuel Supply to join our Procurement team within the Finance division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategic programs related to jet fuel supply, addressing pricing, acquisition, total cost, lead-time, and supply.
  • Manage contracts and suppliers, ensuring optimal fuel supply chain performance.
  • Represent the company in business transactions with internal and external organizations, negotiating and influencing to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal American Airlines customers and stakeholders to understand their business needs, objectives, and product/service requirements.
  • Effectively communicate with management levels both internally and externally, ensuring seamless information exchange.
  • Proactively manage fuel shortage/disruptions, keeping all related parties informed of the status.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.
  • Assist with the Supplier Diversity program as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3 years of related work experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include a degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Process mapping abilities.
  • Supplier risk analysis.
  • Vendor relationship management.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A potential team leader with strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of supply chain concepts, with work experience applying those concepts.
  • Negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Self-directed and resourceful, with the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks.
  • Business understanding, particularly in total cost management and financial analysis, project management, and supplier management.
  • Understanding and use of technical tools for analysis, problem-solving, forecasting, and quality improvement.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • High ethical standard.
