Pediatric Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at United Community & Family Services, Inc. in a full-time (40hr) position. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-4 years of experience in primary care, including pediatrics and internal medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a broad range of nursing support for our large outpatient practice, including nursing consultation, assessment, patient follow-up, and patient surveillance of health statuses and outcomes.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for assisting with physical exams, completing required screenings and laboratory testing, and administering treatments, immunizations, and medications to clients. Additionally, they will provide client services, educate clients/parents as needed, assist clients with prescription needs/refills, coordinate services with/for clients, and act as a client advocate to pursue financial assistance and initiate referrals to community-based organizations as needed.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, prior experience utilizing an electronic health record system, and be CPR certified. Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse Licensed to practice in the State of Connecticut with at least 3-4 years' experience (Primary Care experience preferred including pediatrics and internal medicine).
  • CPR certified
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience utilizing an electronic health record system a strong plus
