As an Electronics Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for the assembly of electronic components, subassemblies, products, and systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Interpret and execute work orders, production drawings, and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks.
2. Accurately position and align components using jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices.
3. Utilize various methods such as crimping, soldering, and press fitting to securely join parts.
4. Install components including transformers, resistors, capacitors, and integrated circuits into assemblies.
5. Connect component lead wires to printed circuit boards (PCBs) and ensure proper routing between components.
6. Assemble hardware elements such as knobs, clamps, and switches to finished products.
7. Perform intermediate assembly tasks including potting, encapsulating, and cleaning of parts.
8. Operate machinery for pressing, marking, and drilling component parts.
9. Adjust materials to meet specified electrical and dimensional standards.
10. Be prepared for temporary assignments across various facilities to support operational needs.
Additional Duties
1. Adhere to ATEC's ISO9001 policies and report any discrepancies to management.
2. Familiarize yourself with the company's quality policies and objectives.
3. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or one year of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to perform soldering on PCBs is advantageous.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and electrical schematics.
Mathematical Skills
- Competence in basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Good vision is necessary, with corrective lenses if needed.
Work Environment
- The noise level is typically moderate, with potential for extended hours or travel as necessary.
