Youth Therapist

About the Role:
This is a hybrid position that requires working with clients in their homes and in our offices. As a Youth Therapist, you will provide direct service to children, adolescents, and families, identifying and intervening with the needs of abused and neglected children and adults.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct service to children, adolescents, and families
- Identify and intervene with the needs of abused and neglected children and adults
- Complete intake and assessment, providing complete and accurate information necessary for treatment and billing
- Design and implement treatment plans that promote healthy attachment, self-regulation, independence, impulse-control, decision-making skills, and social responsibility/empathy
- Work collaboratively with other team members who are supporting the clients, including education, care managers, behavioral assistants, clinicians, physicians, etc.
- Provide telephone counseling for emergencies both during office hours and outside of office hours for clients
- Attend monthly staff meetings
Requirements:
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field
- Valid, current NJ license (LCSW, LPC, LSW, LMFT, LAC)
- Two or more years experience in counseling children
- Three or more years experience in mental health
- Experience in providing treatment to individuals with serious emotional problems
- Ability to effectively use DSM V
- Driver's license and access to reliable transportation
- Ability to make sound clinical judgments and to follow and give complex directions
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of child development, individual and family functioning
- Experience in providing child abuse treatment
- Background and experience in expressive/art therapy, and/or play therapy (filial, theraplay, child-centered, PCIT, MIM relationship assessment, DIR Floortime, TFCBT, PCRT, ACT, Ecosystemic)
- Bilingual
