Youth Therapist

About the Job:
This is a hybrid role that requires working with children, adolescents, and families in both in-home and office settings.
Job Duties:
Provide direct service to children, adolescents, and families, identifying and intervening with the needs of abused and neglected children and adults.
Complete intake and assessment, providing complete and accurate information necessary for treatment and billing.
Design and implement treatment plans that promote healthy attachment, self-regulation, independence, impulse-control, decision-making skills, and social responsibility/empathy.
Work collaboratively with other team members who are supporting the clients, including education, care managers, behavioral assistants, clinicians, physicians, etc.
Provide telephone counseling for emergencies both during office hours and outside of office hours for clients.
Attend monthly staff meetings.
Requirements:
Must possess a master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
Must hold valid, current NJ license (LCSW, LPC, LSW, LMFT, LAC).
Two or more years experience in counseling children.
Three or more years experience in mental health.
Experience in providing treatment to individuals with serious emotional problems.
Ability to effectively use DSM V.
Must possess a driver's license and access to reliable transportation (vehicle must be documented by the agency to be insured and registered).
Ability to make sound clinical judgments and to follow and give complex directions.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Special consideration is given to candidates who:
Have an understanding of child development, as well as individual and family functioning.
Have experience in providing child abuse treatment.
Have background and experience in expressive/art therapy, and/or play therapy (filial, theraplay, child-centered, PCIT, MIM relationship assessment, DIR Floortime, TFCBT, PCRT, ACT, Ecosystemic).
Are bilingual.

Good computer skills; familiarity with smartphone applications.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
Knowledge and sensitivity to cultural differences.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as assessments and procedure manuals.
Must consent to and pass a criminal background check.
Must comply with all HIPAA (confidentiality) laws as it relates to Protected Health Information.
Must be reliable, punctual, organized, and a self-starter.
Must be creative, enthusiastic, and a team player.
