Crane Operator Job Description

The Crane Operator is a critical role at Resolve Marine, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of cranes and lifting equipment. This position requires a high level of expertise and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Operation Checks: Conduct thorough pre-use checks on cranes and lifting equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Lifting Operations: Coordinate and execute lifting operations, ensuring that all necessary safety protocols are followed and that the operation is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on cranes and lifting equipment, as well as report any defects or issues to the supervisor.
  • Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication with other personnel involved in the operation, including the Barge Supervisor and Project Manager.
  • Documentation: Complete daily inspection sheets and turn them in to the Facility Superintendent or Project Manager.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • License: Current Crane Operator license: Friction and Hydraulic Crane NCCCO Certification.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a licensed Crane Operator.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and ability to lift 50 lbs.
Preferred Credentials:
  • Offshore Experience: 2+ years of offshore experience.
  • Equipment Familiarity: Experience operating American cranes (e.g. American 9310, 11320); Manitowoc 4100 and 3900 cranes.
  • Certifications: NCCIC A/D Director Certification, Lifting Director Certification, Rigging Certification, Forklift Operator Certification, Shipyard Competent Person Training, OSHA 10 Hour, Fall Protection Awareness, 40 Hour HAZWOPER, 8 Hour HAZWOPER, First Aid CPR, AED, BOSIET with HUET, STCW with MMC.
ADA Requirements:
  • Physical Demands: Sit or stand, climb (stairs/ladders) or balance, see, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, talk/hear, carry weight, lift 50 lbs.
Travel Requirement:

Up to 30% travel is required. If additional travel is required beyond the specified amount, based on operational demand, you will be notified accordingly so arrangements can be made.
