We are seeking a seasoned Senior Managing Director, Development to join our team at Teach For America. This is a critical role that will play a key part in our efforts to secure funding for our mission.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure $5+ million in FY25 from a sophisticated portfolio of donors, including individuals, foundations, corporations, and public sources.
- Build and maintain critical relationships with local advisory board members, donors, and other stakeholders to advance fundraising efforts.
- Manage a team of development staff members, providing guidance, coaching, and fundraising-related resources and learning experiences.
- Monitor progress across the portfolio to ensure continuous donor stewardship and identify opportunities for growth.
- Develop and maintain a keen understanding of the local landscape and its relationship to public and private donors and funding opportunities.
- At least 10+ years of related experience in sophisticated and complex development and fundraising context.
- Track record of meeting and exceeding ambitious goals as a donor portfolio manager.
- Strong relationships with external stakeholders, including donors, partners, and community leaders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly when working with external audiences.
- Subject matter expert in advanced development practices and the art and science of fundraising.
