Service Overview
The General PICU service is equipped to deliver comprehensive quaternary medical care, supporting a wide array of specialties within the Children's Hospital, including oncology/BMT, trauma, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, orthopedics, and transplant services for liver and kidney patients, among others. Our Children's Heart Center is recognized for its exceptional surgical services, addressing all levels of neonatal, pediatric, and adult congenital heart disease.
Team Structure
Our dedicated team of 11 intensivists provides round-the-clock in-house care, supported by ten Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), fellows in PICU and Cardiology, and resident trainees from pediatrics, anesthesiology, and emergency medicine. We operate with three distinct daytime teams focusing on Pediatric CICU, general medical/surgical PICU, and Pediatric Sedation, with overnight coverage extending to both units. Our faculty includes five members with advanced training in Pediatric Cardiology or Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Medicine, who primarily oversee the daytime CICU service, while the remaining faculty members manage the General Medical/Surgical PICU and the weekday Pediatric Sedation Service.

Qualifications
