Production Manager, Battery Expansion

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our Gigafactory Production team at Tesla. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a dynamic team of Associates and Leads, managing production operations, and driving metrics in critical areas of the Manufacturing floor.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Build a strong, motivated production team capable of consistently delivering high-quality products against aggressive production targets.
- Collaboration and Communication: Empower the production team to collaborate with engineering to improve product manufacturability and line productivity.
- Training and Development: Develop training programs and hiring plans for assembly team members.
- Issue Resolution: Support issue resolution, including root cause investigation and corrective action tracking.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process and support zero defects from leaving a station or team area.
- Standardized Manufacturing Instructions: Develop and maintain Standardized Manufacturing Instructions used in production assembly by the assembly team members.
- Environmental Health and Safety: Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations.
- Leadership Experience: 3+ years of experience managing teams of people in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
- Team Development: Experience in selecting and developing new team members.
- Performance Metrics: Ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs).
- Communication Skills: Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines, communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills, and interface with executives and leaders on a daily basis.
- Technical Skills: Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible shift, including nights and weekends, if necessary.
