Tesla is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our Production Engineering team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the operational efficiency of equipment and the performance of maintenance technicians within our Battery Module division. The ideal candidate will possess a dynamic, skilled, and cost-effective approach to managing a team dedicated to high performance in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Maintenance Technicians focused on manufacturing equipment within the Battery Module sector.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) protocols, including maintaining up-to-date safety training, documenting incidents, and proactively addressing workplace hazards.
- Uphold strict adherence to equipment operation safety, emphasizing performance and availability.
- Enhance technician performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), technician utilization, and effective execution of offline projects.
- Guide technicians in identifying and communicating equipment servicing requirements to bolster reliability.
- Assist technicians in managing unplanned downtime events and ensure effective recovery strategies are in place.
- Make informed daily resource allocation decisions to balance the demands of maintenance, engineering, and production.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing teams within a high-volume manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong manufacturing knowledge, including a proficient understanding of general processes, automation, and controls, with specific experience in Fanuc robotics and PLC programming.
- Demonstrated reliability, initiative, and a proactive learning mindset, with adaptability to various work schedules and environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
- Commitment to safety protocols, with the ability to meet physical demands such as prolonged standing, lifting, and repetitive motions in a potentially loud setting.
- Focus on Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) responsibilities, including team safety training and continuous operational improvements.
- Exhibit leadership qualities, including confidentiality, multitasking abilities, and the capacity to respond to audible alarms and visual cues in the work environment.
