Construction Project Coordinator

Role Summary:
The Project Manager plays a crucial role within the U.S. Engineering team, tasked with ensuring the profitability and overall success of the assigned project team. The Operations Director also has a broader leadership role, focusing on the company's overall success, cultural leadership, strategic execution, talent development, and ongoing quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project initiation, including thorough estimate assessments and the management of purchasing, procurement, subcontracts, and project timelines.
- Oversee project control and construction through administrative guidance of on-site superintendents and other personnel to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Set project goals, procedures, and performance standards in alignment with company policies and operational guidelines.
- Manage the financial aspects of assigned projects effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with project teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Supervise the review and processing of project submittals.
- Handle subcontractor proposal requests, scope evaluations, and the issuance of subcontracts.
- Establish and monitor project schedules for field and subcontractor activities.
- Issue significant purchase orders as required.
- Review, modify, and approve contracts with owners and general contractors.
- Assist in coordinating safety initiatives and oversee job site safety evaluations.
- Manage all project-related correspondence.
- Identify potential future projects and network to pursue opportunities.
- Oversee project closeout processes.
- Support the professional growth and mentoring of project engineers assigned to the project.
- Collect, organize, and document project historical data and lessons learned to enhance company productivity and project quality.
- Reinforce the company's core values in all project-related activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science Management, Architectural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
Experience:
- A combination of mechanical field experience and leadership roles will be considered.
- At least 5 years of experience in the mechanical construction sector.
- Previous experience in project management or field leadership is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical construction industry practices, processes, and standards.
- Ability to enhance project team performance through innovative management techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and persuasion, are essential for fostering professional relationships.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Basic financial acumen necessary for managing project budgets and performance.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; experience with project management software is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Capability to drive projects to successful completion.
Work Environment:
- This role involves a mix of office and project site settings.
- Regular travel to project sites is required, which may include temporary assignments or relocation.
- Physical demands may include walking on uneven surfaces, climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting, as well as sitting and using a computer.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The salary range for this position is between $97,760 and $140,000, reflecting U.S. Engineering's good faith estimate at the time of posting. The final compensation will be determined based on various factors, including internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
- Team members are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and individual performance, in addition to paid time off. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision plans, as well as retirement options.
