Role Summary:
The Project Manager plays a crucial role within the U.S. Engineering team, tasked with ensuring the profitability and overall success of the assigned project team. The Operations Director also holds a broader leadership role, championing company culture, executing strategic plans, nurturing talent, leading positive transformations, and consistently contributing to quality enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee project initiation, including detailed estimate evaluations, procurement facilitation, subcontract management, and project scheduling.
- Monitor project control and construction through administrative guidance of on-site personnel to ensure quality delivery within budget and timeline.
- Establish project goals, procedures, and performance benchmarks in alignment with company policies.
- Manage profitability for assigned projects.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with project teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Oversee the review and processing of project submittals.
- Manage subcontractor proposal requests and scope assessments.
- Establish and track schedules for field and subcontractor progress.
- Issue significant purchase orders.
- Review and approve contracts with owners and general contractors.
- Assist in coordinating safety initiatives and oversee job site safety assessments.
- Facilitate all project-related correspondence.
- Identify future project opportunities and network internally and externally to pursue them.
- Manage project closeout processes.
- Guide the professional development and mentoring of project engineers.
- Collect, organize, and document project historical data and lessons learned to enhance productivity and quality monitoring.
- Reinforce the company's core values in project execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science Management, Architectural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- Equivalent combination of mechanical field and leadership experience will be considered.
- A minimum of 5 years in the mechanical construction sector.
- Prior experience in project management or field leadership is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical construction practices and standards.
- Ability to enhance project team performance through innovative management techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential for developing professional relationships.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Basic financial acumen to manage project budgets effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; experience with project management software is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Capability to drive projects to successful completion.
Work Environment and Travel:
- Work is conducted in various settings, including project sites and office environments.
- Routine travel to project sites is required, which may involve temporary assignments or relocation.
- Physical demands include navigating uneven surfaces, climbing, bending, and lifting, alongside standard office tasks.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The salary range for this position is between $97,760 and $140,000, based on various factors including experience and education.
- Compensation includes eligibility for year-end bonuses based on performance, as well as a comprehensive benefits package covering health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
