Position Overview:
We are in search of a Senior Engineering Manager specializing in manufacturing processes for propulsion and spacecraft electro-mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Spearhead the design and establishment of a state-of-the-art assembly, integration, and testing facility.
2. Oversee process qualification, quality assurance, and supplier development throughout product and process development cycles.
3. Collaborate with research and design engineers to create efficient internal manufacturing processes, procedures, and product flows.
4. Act as the primary technical liaison with external manufacturers, ensuring adherence to quality standards and conducting first article inspections.
5. Provide mentorship and support to technicians involved in production and R&D assemblies, addressing process challenges and non-conformances.
6. Maintain alignment with manufacturing schedules to fulfill production requirements.
7. Conduct audits and report on performance metrics against established processes.
8. Coordinate with engineers across various facilities to ensure seamless process execution.
9. Assist in the integration of MEMS components into sophisticated electromechanical systems.
10. Review designs for manufacturability and ensure compliance with IPC and Contract Manufacturers' guidelines.
11. Ensure all design output files meet established standards and manage changes through the ECO management system.
12. Develop and implement a Supplier Qualification Audit Process, conducting on-site evaluations of Contract Manufacturers and key component suppliers.
13. Drive initiatives for product design and manufacturing process quality enhancements.
14. Collaborate with multiple departments, including New Product Introduction, Engineering, Operations, and Customer Service, to resolve Supplier Quality issues and ensure timely product delivery.
15. Perform First Article Inspections and Cosmetic Qualifications of vendor-supplied components as necessary.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in a hands-on manufacturing setting.
- Strong expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Familiarity with the integration of complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Experience in aerospace, medical devices, or similar industries with a focus on precision design and high reliability.
- Proven track record in scaling from prototype to high-rate production.
- Proficient in Supplier Quality Management practices.
- Experience in the design and construction of manufacturing facilities.
- Background in lean manufacturing with practical involvement in manufacturing processes.
- Technical proficiency in manufacturing methods and equipment maintenance.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Over 20 years of experience in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Experience with space or flight hardware.
- Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9001 quality standards.
- Familiarity with IPC Standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600, J-STD-001).
- Experience in clean-room production environments.
- Implementation of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) management programs.
- Understanding of Electro-static Discharge handling procedures.
- Familiarity with workflow optimization methodologies (e.g., 5S).
