This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the courtroom, including coordinating jury services, maintaining order, and providing support to judges, lawyers, and other court staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Jury Services:
    • Coordinate the movement of individual trial jury pools
    • Assist in the orderly and expeditious dispatch of court business
  • Courtroom Operations:
    • Maintain order and decorum in the courtroom
    • Keep order and maintain court and jury facilities
  • Support Services:
    • Prepare, refresh, and clean-up jury refreshments
    • Refresh courtroom water pitchers and counsel table supplies
    • Order and arrange for jury lunches
  • Communication:
    • Assist the court and counsel with impaneling the jury
    • Escort jury to and from the courtroom
    • Provide personal services to jurors during jury deliberations
  • Confidentiality:
    • Work within a highly confidential setting and maintain that level of confidentiality

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience: Two years' experience working with the public in customer service, office environment, legal, or in the court environment
  • Skills: Ability to work on a team, follow rules, and maintain order
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive motions

Working Conditions:

  • At least 75% of the work is performed in a courtroom
  • A degree of physical danger is inherent while working in potentially volatile situations in a courtroom
