Garces, Grabler & LeBrocq, P.C., a prominent and fast-paced Plaintiff's Personal Injury Law Firm, is currently seeking a Temporary/Contract PIP Arbitration Legal Assistant. This role requires a candidate with a solid background in Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Arbitration matters. Our firm, with approximately 120 employees and multiple offices, is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to enhance our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys in reviewing new case assignments and approving initial legal documents, while developing effective strategies.
  • Manage high-volume PIP Litigation, including filing no-fault arbitration demands.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of medical provider files.
  • Engage with clients to address their concerns and inquiries.
  • Open and verify insurance claims related to bodily injury or property damage.
  • Handle invoice processing, e-filing, legal pleadings, and settlement check processing.
  • Generate monthly reports for medical providers.
  • Maintain attorney calendars and ensure compliance with deadlines.
  • Assist in drafting responses to interrogatories and other legal documents.
  • Review all evidentiary documents pertinent to cases.
  • Communicate and discuss case claims with clients effectively.
  • Prepare for and attend court appearances, including hearings and status meetings.
  • Support clients and witnesses in preparation for depositions.
  • Assist in the preparation of arbitrations, mediations, and trials, including coordination with expert witnesses.
  • Help attorneys draft trial motions and provide legal opinions on client claims.
  • Participate in the appeals process as needed.
  • Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation when appropriate.
  • Responsible for managing federal and state filings.
  • Assist with settlement negotiations and demands.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Paralegal certification is strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in Personal Injury Protection Litigation.
  • General understanding of law firm operations.
  • Experience with No Fault and/or Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is advantageous.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and organized case files.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and legal research tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for collaboration and report preparation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is required.
  • Ability to manage a substantial caseload and adapt to new skills quickly.
  • Strong teamwork capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of e-court systems.
  • Willingness to travel to various courts and offices as necessary.
  • Strong understanding of New Jersey PIP regulations.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with case management software; SmartAdvocate experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
