Job Title: Launch Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Launch Engineer to join our team at Minth North America. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating engineering change and working with the team to establish best solutions and feasibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and understand the needs of the plant, including materials, process implementation, automation, error proofing, equipment, floor layout, and labor.
  • Analyze program investment and identify means to avoid risk in program development.
  • Participate in reviewing drawings/math data, processes, tooling/equipment design, and understand the tech specification of new equipment investment.
  • Lead equipment/tooling buy off and manage in-plant tuning, tooling, and equipment plan.
  • Organize the plant for preparation of materials, labor, production planning, production line, and WIP racks.
  • Plan trail productions and sample submissions, and assist the team to resolve issues from trial production.
  • Update documents to production version, including control plans, WI, PFMEA, flowcharts, and assist the PPAP process to get PSW approval.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required.
  • 2+ years of Launch experience required, preferably in an Automotive Manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of materials (plastics and metals) preferred, and experience with automotive interior and exterior, preferably with plastic injection, two-shot injection, roll forming, stamping, and aluminum extrusion.
  • Strong technical ability with knowledge of materials and manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • A high level of self-motivation for action, strong communication, presentation, and organization skills.
  • Ability to directly interact with customers while providing a professional image.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
