Role Overview:

The Intensive Family Support Specialist is responsible for working closely with children and families who require a comprehensive level of service, ongoing contact, and effective treatment coordination. This role involves providing direct crisis intervention, support, transportation, and educational resources to families and children, either independently or in collaboration with other in-home services. The specialist will manage a caseload of 15 families, ensuring a high level of service intensity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct services in-home, in-office, in-school, and within the community. Services include crisis intervention, transportation, client stabilization, additional supervision, parent training in child care and behavior management, and support to maintain children within their homes.
  • Organize, facilitate, and follow up on family, youth, and adult team meetings (ACT or CFT). Document these meetings thoroughly and distribute copies to all participants. Engage natural supports as identified by families and make referrals to community partners as needed.
  • Commit to at least 40 hours of work weekly, aiming for 30 hours of direct client interaction, including necessary case management. Adhere to clinical documentation standards and complete tasks within agreed timelines. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to accommodate the needs of families, which may include evening or weekend hours.
  • In collaboration with families, youth, and adults, provide services that align with the 12 Arizona Principles, ensuring a comprehensive approach to care.
  • Maintain continuity of care and assist team members, including Clinical Coordinators and Directors, in coordinating communication with other departments and external stakeholders.
  • Build and sustain effective working relationships with state agencies, community mental health organizations, and contracting entities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Behavioral Health-related field is preferred or meets BHT requirements.
  • Experience in behavioral health is essential.
  • Prior experience working with children is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the CFT process and the Arizona 12 Principles is beneficial.
  • Ability to be adaptable, problem-solve, and creatively approach service delivery is required.
  • Must possess a Fingerprint clearance card or be eligible to obtain one.
  • A valid Arizona driver's license with no major infractions in the past three years is necessary.
  • Access to reliable transportation is required.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment.

  • Demonstrated ability to remain composed in crisis situations, work independently and collaboratively, and engage positively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Uphold professional conduct in line with ethical standards and agency policies.
  • Foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • For those driving on agency time, a valid Arizona driver's license and appropriate liability insurance are required.
