POSITION SUMMARY: The Emergency Patient Transfer Coordinator is responsible for managing the transfer of emergency patients to appropriate healthcare facilities. This role involves receiving requests from hospitals, assessing patient conditions, and coordinating transfers efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive and evaluate requests for patient transfers from community hospitals.
- Assess patients' medical conditions and determine suitable receiving facilities.
- Coordinate transportation arrangements, including ambulance and helicopter services when necessary.
- Maintain communication with referring and receiving hospitals regarding transfer details.
- Utilize computer systems for data entry and call logging.
- Assist in emergency situations by deploying resources and coordinating transport logistics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must have completed relevant training programs and possess experience in emergency or critical care settings. Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Paramedic is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position involves light physical effort, including occasional lifting and significant ambulation.
