SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory's Facilities and Operations Division is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Engineer 1 to join our team. As a key member of our Electrical Power Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the functionality and reliability of our electrical systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical power analysis, including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analysis.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop protection schemes for our electrical systems.
  • Assist in designing control systems to monitor and manage power distribution.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve electrical faults and anomalies.
  • Analyze data and provide recommendations for improvements to enhance system reliability.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and proposed solutions.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards and advancements in electrical protection and control systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or other appropriate specialty, or combination of education and work experience meeting the CA Engineer-in-Training requirements.
  • Knowledge of electrical protection and control systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools for electrical systems analysis, ETAP, or SKM.
