Bilingual Medical Assistant, Temp-to-Perm
Department of Surgery

The Bilingual Medical Assistant, Temp-to-Perm will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating the arrival of ambulatory patients during their appointments.
  • Monitoring essential physiological indicators.
  • Delivering direct patient care in line with the protocols of various patient sessions, tailored to the age groups of the patients served.
  • Exhibiting proficiency in blood specimen collection within the defined scope of practice.
  • Administering medications following established protocols.
  • Demonstrating skill in executing all procedures pertinent to the role and appropriate to the developmental stages of the patients.
  • Providing ongoing assistance to healthcare providers for all patient-related activities.
  • Managing telephone communications and appointment scheduling.
  • Being well-versed in emergency protocols.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, utility areas, and supply carts, while confirming that all are adequately stocked and that equipment is properly maintained.
  • Reporting critical information and any unusual occurrences as they arise.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of standard precautions, body mechanics, and patient care procedures obtained through a Medical Assistant certification program.
  • The role necessitates effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients, family members, and the healthcare team, ensuring accurate documentation of patient care tasks and facilitating patient education.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant is required within 90 days of employment.
  • BLS Certification is mandatory, as recognized by the American Heart Association.
  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English is highly preferred.

Schedule: Temp-to-Perm, Monday-Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm
