This position entails managing the entire loan processing workflow, ensuring that mortgage applications are processed, underwritten, and finalized with precision and in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the daily functions of the mortgage loan processing department.
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures to facilitate effective loan processing, underwriting, and closing.
- Supervise the department's workflow and allocate resources to sustain peak productivity and adhere to closing timelines.
- Train, mentor, and oversee loan processors, offering guidance and support to foster high performance and professional growth.
- Collaborate with underwriters, loan officers, and other stakeholders to enhance the loan approval process.
- Ensure adherence to all federal and state regulations, along with company policies and procedures.
- Address and resolve intricate loan processing challenges and customer inquiries.
- Evaluate department performance, generate reports for senior management, and propose enhancements to boost efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory developments impacting mortgage processing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in mortgage loan processing, including 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Comprehensive understanding of mortgage lending procedures, underwriting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to inspire and mentor staff.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in mortgage loan processing software and MS Office Suite.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet stringent deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of industry-specific software and CRM systems.
- Experience in process optimization and workflow management.
- Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance procedures.
