Position Title: Plant Mechanic

Position Overview: The Plant Mechanic will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of machinery and equipment in accordance with layout plans, blueprints, and written specifications within industrial settings. This role requires proficiency in welding and pipefitting, along with robust mechanical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams to ascertain work procedures; disassemble machinery; relocate equipment as necessary.
  • Assemble and install machinery, followed by testing to ensure proper functionality.
  • Adhere strictly to approved safety regulations at all times.
  • Organize the layout and positioning of machinery in factory environments to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues with machinery by conducting tests, performing temporary repairs, or replacing components.
  • Disassemble outdated machinery and install new replacements.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance by identifying potential problems, replacing worn parts, and lubricating mechanical components.
  • Utilize equipment such as forklifts to transport mechanical parts.
  • Assemble and install various equipment including conveyors, pumps, compressors, and turbines.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment while performing all duties efficiently.
  • Engage in welding and pipefitting tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Preferred: A minimum of five (5) years of experience in mechanical, welding, or pipefitting roles.

Physical and Job Site Requirements:

  • Ability to complete hiring documentation electronically.
  • May need to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess the strength and stamina to fulfill the technical duties outlined.
  • Capable of navigating confined spaces and uneven terrain.
  • Must have a full range of motion appropriate for the role.
  • Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders.
  • Must be able to hear and respond to verbal commands and alarms from coworkers and equipment.
  • Visual acuity and depth perception necessary for working at heights and on uneven surfaces.
  • Safety footwear is mandatory.
