Accounting Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare Accounts Payable invoices for payment, ensuring accurate matching to POs and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Resolve Health Rules check trace issues and FACTs issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update Pre-paid schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support month-end close by maintaining supporting schedules and ensuring data integrity.
- Manage monthly reinsurance reporting to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
- Monitor and reconcile cash spreadsheets between accounting systems to prevent discrepancies.
- Administer the Due Diligence/Escheats process to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Accurately record timekeeping on the payroll system as assigned.
- Process Flexible Spending Account/Dependent Care payments and reconcile with payroll reports to ensure accuracy.
- Reconcile premium billing outstanding A/R accounts to prevent errors.
- Prepare and maintain spreadsheets for audits as required, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in the field by engaging in ongoing professional development.
- Provide necessary documentation and support to external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
- Participate in departmental quality assessment and continuous quality improvement activities to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes.
- Perform other duties as assigned to maintain efficient operations of the department and the company.
Requirements:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or Associate degree with 2 years of related experience; or High School diploma with 4 years of related experience.
- Preferred: Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or 2 years of experience with knowledge of HMO or PPO.
Additional Requirements:
