Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service. As a Cybersecurity Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting information systems security evaluations, audits, and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and risks. You will also troubleshoot security threats and vulnerabilities in response to incident reports, and monitor and evaluate compliance with IT security policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct information systems security evaluations, audits, and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Troubleshoot security threats and vulnerabilities in response to incident reports.
  • Monitor and evaluate compliance with IT security policies and procedures.
  • Implement and coordinate prescribed operations designed to ensure, protect, and restore information technology (IT) systems, services, and capabilities.
  • Assess security threats to determine impact and implement corrective action.
Requirements
  • Basic Requirement: Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
  • Specialized experience: One year of experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-09 in the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
