Key Responsibilities

  • Operate in environments that may present discomfort due to factors such as drafts, noise, and temperature fluctuations, while ensuring safety protocols are strictly adhered to.
  • Exhibit proficiency in reading and working with technical drawings and schematics to complete diverse assembly and subassembly tasks.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with industry standards, practices, and procedures relevant to shipbuilding and fabrication.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

  • A High School Diploma.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a shipyard setting.
  • Leadership capabilities to manage and guide junior technicians and laborers.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance.
  • Compliance with safety regulations, including obtaining OSHA and Forklift certifications.
  • Experience in various fabrication tasks, including the ability to build connectors, maintain safety operations, and understand quality assurance requirements.
  • Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting and maneuvering equipment, while adhering to safety standards.

Additional Skills

Preferred qualifications include:

  • An active DoD Secret clearance.
  • OSHA Certification.
