Position Title: X-ray Technologist

Role Overview

The X-ray Technologist is responsible for updating patient records within the Athena EMR system. This role emphasizes delivering exceptional patient care and clearly communicating procedural details to patients. The technologist will proficiently operate digital X-ray systems and imaging devices, particularly for orthopedic cases. Adherence to physician directives and the accurate scanning of necessary information into PACS is essential. The production of high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring proper positioning and technique, is a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the X-ray room post-examinations.
  • Gather patient information and chart notes for fluoroscopy procedures.
  • Document fluoroscopy duration and prepare necessary paperwork for the Radiologist.
  • Exhibit thorough knowledge and compliance with safety protocols, including OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
  • Conduct regular Quality Control checks, including daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual assessments.
  • Collaborate across various specialties within the organization, including orthopedics, podiatry, pain management, and spinal care.

Essential Skills

  • ARRT certification is required.
  • Experience in performing AP, lateral, and oblique scans.
  • Strong bedside manner and patient interaction skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of daily procedures effectively.
