This position is integral to a collaborative team, responsible for managing the operations of the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Key responsibilities include operating diagnostic fluoroscopy and various cardiac imaging equipment, monitoring patient vitals, performing essential calculations, and assisting physicians during procedures as needed. You will also prepare the procedure rooms, equipment, and patients for interventions and serve as a liaison to the hospital's Radiation Safety Officer (RSO).

Essential Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Education: Required - Associate degree in Radiologic Sciences; Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences.
  • Experience: Required - None; Preferred - 2 years in a relevant allied health position.
  • Certifications: Required - Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire; must be a Registered Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice and hold registration from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in computer operations for data entry and information retrieval.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with various software applications and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with the capability to perform complex tasks safely.
  • Adaptability to diverse patient populations and their unique needs.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local radiation regulations.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in patient preparation and post-procedure cleanup, ensuring safe transfer and positioning.
  • Document procedures accurately for billing and compliance.
  • Operate fluoroscopy equipment to capture diagnostic images related to cardiovascular conditions.
  • Monitor patient hemodynamics during procedures and communicate findings to the physician.
  • Ensure safe radiation practices to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Manage digital imaging processes, including transmission and archiving.
  • Conduct quality control measures and maintain imaging equipment.
  • Adapt communication and care approaches to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
