About The People Concern
The People Concern is dedicated to assisting the most vulnerable individuals in our community to reclaim their lives. As one of the largest social service organizations in Los Angeles County, established in 2016, we provide a variety of evidence-based interventions to combat homelessness and domestic violence.
Position Title: Housing Support Case Manager
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA (Skid Row)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Department: Housing Services
Reports To: Program Manager
Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY
- Facilitate enrollment in the Coordinated Entry System (CES) and ensure a VISPDAT score is obtained.
- Assist clients in overcoming obstacles to securing permanent housing, including obtaining identification, accessing legal support, securing benefits/income assistance, and providing transportation to necessary appointments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activities in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
- Engage with a diverse client base, including marginalized populations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a valid California Driver's License, reliable vehicle, auto insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or a minimum of two years of experience in case management.
- Proven knowledge and understanding of case management practices.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work involves a combination of fieldwork and office tasks.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and bend; may occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 35 lbs.
