Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Prevention and Outreach Coordinator within the Quality, Customer Service, and Recipient Rights (QCSRR) division, this role is pivotal in shaping policy recommendations, planning, executing, coordinating, and assessing various Prevention & Wellness initiatives. The position emphasizes the delivery of services that prioritize prevention, wellness, recovery, and inclusion, fostering integration opportunities for consumers, their families, CMHA-CEI staff, and the broader community. The specialist will collaborate with local coalitions and MSHN prevention teams to devise behavioral health prevention activities. Service delivery will encompass events, educational programs, and relationship cultivation. Responsibilities also include researching and implementing best practice programs and strategies, defining and tracking outcomes, managing budgets, and pursuing grants and donations. The specialist will ensure that all program activities align with CMHA-CEI's mission, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Health Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution is required. A minimum of two years of relevant experience in behavioral health (e.g., Substance Use Disorder, Mental Illness, Intellectual Developmental Disabilities) is essential. Proven experience in collaboration and consultation with community organizations is necessary. Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills in both verbal and written formats. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and the ability to master agency-specific software is required. Familiarity with personal computers is also necessary. Availability for some evening hours is expected. A valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation for job-related activities are mandatory.

Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will depend on the successful completion of a background verification and credentialing process, which includes a Michigan State Police Clearance check, Medicaid/Medicare verification, an acceptable Michigan driving record, educational background verification, and a review of work history. Candidates must also pass a pre-employment 5-panel drug screening.

Compensation and Work Hours: The starting salary for this position is $27.77 per hour, with a commitment of 40 hours per week, including some evening shifts.
