We are seeking a motivated Sonography Technologist II PRN to help us achieve our objectives.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the limited supervision of the Radiologist, the Sonography Technologist is responsible for performing sonography procedures, including routine and interventional sonograms such as biopsies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
  • Work in accordance with JCAHO, State, and other regulatory or accreditation standards in all duties performed.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program or School of Sonography, with either a two-year or four-year degree followed by specialized training in sonography.
  • Current registration/licensure/certification in good standing with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Registration in vascular sonography and a minimum of two additional areas: OB/Gyn, Abdomen, or Breast.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Minimum one year of hospital experience in medical sonography, including biopsies.
  • Ability to accurately perform sonography examinations as ordered by referring physicians.
  • Familiarity with radiology information systems to access previous examination reports.
  • Competence in operating sonographic equipment and performing invasive procedures post-orientation.
  • Proficient in using office equipment (phone, fax, pagers).
  • Effective communication skills with patients, physicians, nurses, and other medical staff.
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Capacity to perform sonographic duties regardless of patient condition.
