Banquet Operations Supervisor

The Lead Banquet Houseperson is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of banquet events by supervising the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms and banquet functions. This role requires a strong focus on customer service and attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and assist in the cleaning and setting of meeting rooms and banquet functions, ensuring that all specifications are met.
Vacuum floors, clean walls, windows, and mirrors, and properly care for and store equipment, including tables, chairs, risers, dance floors, and lecterns.
Oversee and assist in the storage of meeting room supplies, such as linens, pads, pens, pencils, and meeting amenities.
Service meeting rooms by removing trash, clearing dirty plates, cups, glasses, and linens, straightening chairs, and replenishing water as specified or requested.
Requirements
High school or equivalent education required.
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in hotel or resort environments with a strong emphasis on customer service and food and beverage.
One year of experience in banquet supervision or 4-5 years of banquet houseman experience.
Bilingual, with the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements
The majority of work tasks are performed indoors, with moderate temperatures controlled by hotel environmental systems. However, the ability to work in extreme temperatures, such as freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F), may be required for up to one hour or more. The position requires walking and giving direction for most of the working day, with the ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours. The ability to bend, squat, and frequently lift 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, is also required. May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 pounds. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 pounds. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, as well as visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees. Vision occurs continuously, with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
