Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity for a highly skilled Senior Aircraft Systems Engineer to join our team at Lockheed Martin. As a key member of our Weapons Integration Engineering team, you will be responsible for tracking the capabilities of near-term, mid-term, and far-term air-to-air, air-to-ground weapons employment, Electronic Protection (EP) systems, and Targeting Pod (TGP) capabilities and potential adversary counter capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continually track and analyze weapons employment and threat data to identify and evaluate F-16 capabilities.
  • Contribute to engineering feasibility studies that lead to recommendations for hardware and software upgrades and modifications to maximize aircraft capabilities.
  • Provide technical input while participating in weapons integration/development meetings and conferences.
  • Work with weapons development vendors to accomplish System Integration Lab (SIL) testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of aircraft systems and weapons.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University with at least 9 years relevant experience.
  • Tactical aircraft avionics experience, including air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons employment/integration and Targeting Pod (TGP) experience.
  • Significant knowledge of Laser guided and Inertial Navigation System (INS)/Global Positioning System (GPS) air to ground weapon systems.
  • Significant knowledge of Radar Guided and Infrared Air-to-Air missile guidance systems.
  • Knowledge of Surface-to-Air and Air-to-Air threat systems and tactics.
Desired Skills
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems, sub systems, and weapons software and hardware integration processes related to System Integration Lab (SIL) and flight testing.
  • Operational military aircraft flight experience.
  • F-16 aircraft avionics experience.
  • Electronic Warfare (EW) and Electronic Protection (EP) systems knowledge and experience.
  • Sun Microsystems, and Microsoft Office Applications familiarity.
  • Experience interfacing with civilian, government, Department of Defense, and defense industry representatives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, self-starter, and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Security Clearance

This position requires a government security clearance, and the selected candidate must be a U.S. citizen. The clearance level required is Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years.
