Position Overview:


BAE Systems is in search of a highly skilled Senior Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) Engineer to contribute to the development of the next-generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) system, recognized as the Sentinel ICBM Program.

About the Sentinel Program:


The Sentinel initiative represents a significant and intricate Mega-Project aimed at modernizing the entire ICBM weapon system, which spans across vast territories in multiple states.

This program is undoubtedly one of the Department of Defense's (DoD) most critical acquisition projects for the foreseeable future.

It encompasses a comprehensive refurbishment or replacement of numerous aging Minuteman III ICBM facilities, ensuring the security and support of a newly designed, technologically advanced ballistic missile.

Additionally, it will introduce a completely new command and control system, along with a wide range of essential support equipment specifically designed to operate and maintain the new weapon system for decades to come.

As one of the DoD's newest official programs of record, the Sentinel initiative has recently achieved Acquisitions Milestone B and enjoys substantial support at the national level.

This long-term project anticipates the weapon system remaining operational until at least 2075, offering career-defining opportunities that are not typically available in smaller projects.


Key Responsibilities:


The Senior MS&A Engineer will play a vital role within the LGM-35A Sentinel Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Analysis Branch.

The AVE Division is crucial to the Sentinel program, focusing on the evaluation of solid rocket motors, guidance systems, and post-boost propulsion mechanisms.

The Analysis Branch is tasked with developing a six degrees of freedom (6-DOF) model to assess the flight performance of the Sentinel ICBM currently under development.

The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of experienced engineers and developers to finalize this 6-DOF simulation and other essential MS&A tools.


Responsibilities Include:
  • Assisting the team in the creation, review, and testing of advanced rocket and missile dynamics and performance simulations.

Qualifications:


The ideal candidate will:

  • Apply extensive engineering expertise to ensure that correct principles, theories, concepts, practices, and techniques are integral to the MS&A tools being developed.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of content, recommend corrective actions, and provide support for programmatic and technical briefings, reports, and related documentation.
  • Plan, coordinate, execute, and complete tasks related to engineering processes, protocols, and implementation for the LGM-35A Sentinel System Program Office.
