Physical Requirements: Sitting for extended time.
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am- 5:00pm
Job Summary:The STEPS Scribe role is designed to support physicians during emergency department patient encounters by handling time-consuming clerical responsibilities. Scribes accompany emergency physicians and directly observe patient encounters, accurately documenting events and decision-making to result in appropriate medical charting. They also complete clerical activities necessary to assist with processing physician orders for tests and medications.
Key Responsibilities:- Accurate, timely charting of patient encounters, including patient history, physical exams, diagnostic findings, lab and test results, consultations with other providers, emergency department treatment course, diagnoses, discharge instructions, and prescriptions.
- Professional, non-intrusive interaction with patients, physicians, hospital staff, and other coworkers.
- Communicates all lab and x-ray results.
No supervisory responsibilities.
