We are in search of a Registered Respiratory Therapist to deliver high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in alignment with departmental needs and in accordance with the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. As an integral member of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist will conduct various diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures while monitoring patients receiving both invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. Perform diagnostic procedures to assess the necessity for and response to respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, such as oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with the placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patients for therapeutic responses and promptly notify providers while intervening as necessary in case of unintended responses.
  • Assist in the transportation of patients who are dependent on ventilators.
  • Respond to emergency patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.

Qualifications Required:

  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Completion of a two-year AMA approved respiratory care program (Associate's Degree or equivalent).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within six months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within six months of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitation certification must be obtained within six months of employment start date.
