We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Certification through the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
- Completion of a two-year AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or equivalent)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Neonate Resuscitation must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is a purpose-guided healthcare provider. We are a four-story, 150,000-square-foot hospital with 70 private beds and a six-bed private ICU. We provide a full range of acute care services, including emergency services, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging, and inpatient and outpatient surgery.
