Position Summary

The Department of Linguistics is inviting applications for an instructor role, emphasizing expertise in at least one of the following domains: syntax, sociolinguistics, or computational linguistics.

Candidates specializing in any one of these areas will be given full consideration. The instructor will be tasked with delivering four courses (two each semester). One of the fall courses will be a thesis workshop tailored for undergraduate seniors.

Additionally, another course, likely in the fall, will introduce graduate students to one of the specified fields, aligning with the candidate's qualifications.

The remaining two courses will be assigned according to the candidate's area of expertise; we expect one to be at the undergraduate level and the other at the graduate level.

Moreover, the appointee is anticipated to assist in advising both undergraduate and graduate students in their specialized field.

This position is a full-time appointment for one academic year.



Basic Qualifications
A doctorate in Linguistics or a closely related field is required by the commencement of the appointment.

Additional Qualifications
A demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence is preferred.
