Job Summary

The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts is seeking a part-time Pastry Chef Instructor to teach in our Professional Pastry Programs. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and guidance to our students, helping them to develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the culinary industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach pastry arts and baking classes to students in our Professional Pastry Programs
  • Develop and deliver lesson plans and curriculum to meet the needs of our students
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to help them improve their skills
  • Manage classroom environment and ensure a safe and healthy learning space
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement curriculum and instructional materials
  • Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to the development of our culinary programs
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pastry arts or baking, preferably in a restaurant, bakery, or catering company
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in culinary education or training
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use technology to support instruction
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds, stand, kneel, sit, and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in culinary arts or related field
  • Experience with curriculum development and instructional design
  • Strong knowledge of culinary industry trends and best practices
  • Ability to speak multiple languages
Work Environment

This position will be based in a commercial kitchen environment, which may vary in temperature and humidity. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities is essential.
