Position Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Social Media and Marketing Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for generating engaging content across various social media platforms and retail channels, while also managing ongoing promotional initiatives and ensuring a robust online presence. Adhering to industry regulations and maintaining compliant content is crucial in the cannabis sector, so staying informed about relevant guidelines is essential. You will oversee the comments section of all social media posts, ensuring that every interaction aligns with our company’s messaging and values, while also keeping abreast of the latest trends in social media.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong ability to create captivating content for social media, exhibit excellent organizational skills, and demonstrate the capability to execute successful social media campaigns. This position starts at 20 hours per week, with the potential for full-time employment based on performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and produce content for social media across multiple platforms in diverse formats.
  • Create and refine marketing and sales materials for retail channels, aligning with the social media calendar.
  • Ensure compliance with cannabis industry standards by staying updated on all relevant regulations.
  • Monitor and engage with social media interactions across all platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with the social media team to maintain brand consistency and an accurate voice across all channels.
  • Stay informed about social media trends and implement them within current marketing strategies.
  • Manage and maintain a comprehensive social media calendar, planning at least one month in advance.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure brand consistency.
  • Generate reports that demonstrate the effectiveness and outcomes of social media campaigns.
  • Coordinate lifestyle and product photoshoots with local artists.
  • Source local artists to assist in creating materials beyond the team's expertise.
  • Design marketing assets, including menus, posters, stickers, promotional materials, and in-store collateral.
  • Source marketing assets affordably and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
Qualifications
  • Strong familiarity with major social media platforms and an understanding of current trends.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office, photo editing, and video editing software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong design skills with the ability to make quick edits.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with artists, designers, and photographers.
  • General knowledge of the cannabis industry and insights into effective branding strategies.
  • Experience navigating social media regulations within the cannabis and CBD sectors.
  • A genuine passion for cannabis and/or CBD, reflecting the values of our company.
