Our extensive range includes shampoos, conditioners, and styling products, with a significant portion of our production occurring in our Texas facility.
Position Summary:
The Chemical Production Operator is responsible for accurately compounding chemicals according to established formulations to produce finished goods for packaging. This role involves operating and maintaining various compounding equipment, collaborating with team members to achieve production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine batch specifications for finished goods and gather, weigh, and prepare all necessary raw materials.
- Identify and understand over 200 chemical names and their abbreviations accurately.
- Prepare empty drums for refilling by cleaning them as required.
- Conduct cleanup tasks after each batch process.
- Maintain cleanliness of batching kettles between product runs.
- Safely handle and transport full drums (weighing between 400 – 500 lbs.) using appropriate equipment.
- Comply with all safety regulations and company policies, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Engage in safety training and contribute to a secure working environment.
- Immediately report any safety hazards or incidents to a supervisor.
- Notify supervisors of any equipment issues or maintenance requirements.
- Ensure all equipment is operated safely and effectively.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Adhere to workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Perform additional tasks as necessary to support the company's vision and mission.
Are You the Right Fit?
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Steel-toed shoes are necessary to meet safety standards.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Experience operating forklifts and electric pallet jacks is preferred.
Work Environment:
This position requires working in a manufacturing setting that is not climate-controlled, with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and fluctuating temperatures.
Work Schedule:
- Regular: Monday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. (Fridays as assigned).
- Summer: Monday through Friday, 7 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
- Punctuality and reliability are crucial for scheduled shifts.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capacity to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
