Job Summary

The Chair, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department. This role requires a strong leader who can provide strategic direction and management for all departmental initiatives and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the pharmacy practice and administration curriculum, including experiential education and the simulation center.
  • Provide leadership and management for all departmental strategic initiatives and operations.
  • Develop clinical, teaching, and service partnerships with healthcare organizations and providers in the area.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain faculty and staff in pharmacy practice and administration according to the needs of the program.
  • Conduct annual reviews and make recommendations for salary and budgetary requests.
  • Represent the Department on the Executive Committee.
  • Engage in teaching and scholarship in areas of expertise and interest.
Requirements

Candidates should hold a Doctor of Pharmacy, Ph.D. in Pharmacy Administration, or other terminal degree. Eligibility for licensure in the state of New York is preferred. A record of academic teaching, scholarship, and service that qualifies for the rank of Associate Professor or higher is also required.
