Job Title: Chair, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences

St. John Fisher University seeks a visionary leader to serve as the Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. This is a tenure-track position that offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of academic pharmacy education.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the department, including curriculum development, research initiatives, and faculty support.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain faculty members who share the department's commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service.
  • Develop and manage the department's annual budget, ensuring alignment with the university's strategic goals.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with external collaborators to advance the department's research and teaching mission.
  • Conduct annual reviews of department faculty and staff, providing feedback and guidance to support their growth and development.
  • Represent the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences on the university's Executive Committee, contributing to strategic decision-making and policy development.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. or other terminal degree in a pharmaceutical science discipline.
  • Minimum of six years of academic experience, with a record of teaching, scholarship, and service that qualifies for the rank of Associate Professor or higher.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in budget development and management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, and external partners.
