Job Title: Chair, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration Position Leader

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to serve as the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration. The successful candidate will provide leadership and management for all of the department's strategic initiatives and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the pharmacy practice and administration curriculum, including experiential education and the simulation center.
  • Provide leadership and management for all of the department's strategic initiatives and operations.
  • Develop clinical, teaching, and service partnerships with health care organizations and providers in the area.
  • Recruit, hire and retain faculty and staff in pharmacy practice and administration according to the needs of the program.
  • Conduct annual reviews and make recommendations for salary and budgetary requests.
  • Represent the Department on the Executive Committee.
  • Engage in teaching and scholarship in areas of expertise and interest.

Requirements:

  • Candidates from any pharmacy practice or pharmacy administration discipline will be considered.
  • Qualified applicants will hold a Doctor of Pharmacy, Ph.D. in Pharmacy Administration, or other terminal degree.
  • Eligibility for licensure in the state of New York is preferred.
  • Candidates should have a record of academic teaching, scholarship, and service which will qualify for the rank of Associate Professor or higher.

  • Possess strong time management and problem solving skills, be creative, innovative and possess the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Adapt to new and rapidly changing situation and successfully resolve issues from identification through resolution.
  • Effectively work with multiple databases and student platforms.
  • Excel in connecting and building rapport with students and faculty.
  • Possess excellent customer service, as well as, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Work Environment: St. John Fisher University is a liberal arts-based institution located just outside of Rochester, New York. Its faculty are committed to excellence in teaching and creating a student-centered learning environment.
